I saw Young in concert, but with Crazy Horse, in the late 80s. Otherwise, I knew only his studio recordings. Hearing him solo like this reveals the strength of his music and of his voice. Thanks for posting this.

I was 14 when I first saw Niel Young in concert at the Indiana University auditorium , the tickets, a gift from my brothers for my birthday. I felt like Cinderella. It was 1972. My brother took me by the hand down to the floor (back in the days of "festival seating" where you could wander no matter where your seats were ticketed). He was barefoot on stage and wore a "Pat Paulson For President" T shirt and the typical patched jeans. His distinctive style and voice, the words he gave us to ponder were not lost on me even at 14. There is a special responsibility born of notoriety and while he was a rebel in small ways, he has done the world good with his generosity as well as his gift of expression.

Live long, Mr Young. Vicki (comment below me) may have missed you. I did not. Thank you for the anchor you gave to my growing up years. It blesses me still.
